Hi! We’re Ruth and Stephen from NI Silver - come on in!

We are two everyday kinda people, who met overseas and were lucky enough to travel extensively for many years throughout South East Asia, Australia and the UK. Later in life we decided to settle and raise our daughter in beautiful Holywood, in Ruth's native Northern Ireland. As a trained goldsmith, Ruth had learned many skills both at home and abroad.
A homebird at heart, she wanted - and has always loved - to craft pieces which reflected the landscape, history and heritage of this beautiful country and so the idea for NI Silver was born. Inspired by her experiences, Ruth makes jewellery which connects people to time, place or memory and we soon became recognised for making 'wee pieces of home' - whether that be a famous, ancient landmark like the Giant's Causeway or some modern architecture like Titanic Belfast.

These beautiful gifts and keepsakes - from rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets, cufflinks, brooches and much more - remind the wearer of the beauty and spirit of Northern Ireland, whether they are expats in far off places, keeping home close to their heart, or someone who has visited here on holiday and wants that special keepsake.
For the larger corporate visitors, Ruth can also accommodate larger orders, however caters equally for one-off bespoke commissions so everyone is catered for. Customer Service is key for us and we want you to experience our warm ‘Norn Irish’ hospitality.

Throughout history, Northern Ireland has always been known as a global centre for arts, crafts and traditional skills and we are passionate about continuing that legacy.
Ruth puts her heart and soul into her jewellery and every single piece, made by hand, using age-old techniques from ethically sourced silver, has a story, much as our famous folklore is woven into the landscape here.

We want to share that feeling of connection to the earth and the elements within - earth, fire, water, wind, telling a story and forging something beautiful from the natural world, using ancient expertise passed down over generations. As makers from Northern Ireland, which is a place famous for offering everyone a warm welcome, we want to make you feel at home with us too. Like you, our home is our haven, where many memories have been made. We want to share the tranquility of our studio, high in the hills overlooking Belfast Lough, with a stunning vista of two counties, filled with local artisan crafts. We are happy to recommend some fabulous other makers in the vicinity too.

And so, we invite you to join us in our workshop to make your own memories with loved ones. Ideal for families, couples or groups of friends, whether from Northern Ireland or visiting, on our Experience Workshops. Ruth will guide you through the process of jewellery making, helping you and your group create your own pieces from platinum, palladium, gold, silver or copper - a permanent, beautiful and wearable reminder of the precious time you spent together.

Not only will you enjoy a completely immersive experience, learning a new skill and making a unique keepsake, you can then relax on our 180 degree deck or around the firepit in our quirky 'igloo', drinking in the breath-taking views and reflecting on your experience. Nestle under handmade Irish woollen blankets and enjoy some Scandinavian 'hygge' and Northern Irish 'craic', with stories from our travels and our escapades as extras on some of Northern Ireland's major film and TV productions! You can also enjoy locally made artisan drinks and snacks and even take some away with you in a reusable jute goodie bag, depending on your jewellery making experience package.

Whatever your time, group size or budget, we will have an experience to meet your every need. Our proximity to both George Best City or the International airports, major motorways, Belfast City Centre, Giant Causeway, the the Mourne Mountains and beautiful Strangford Lough and County Down coast, as well as our extensive local knowledge, means that we are ideally placed to guide you on your onward journey.

So don't just visit and look - step inside our studio, become part of our world, feel at one with the elements and embrace the true spirit of Northern Ireland, then take a reminder (or a few reminders) of your day back to your home with you to treasure forever, a gift from our home to yours. We look forward to welcoming you.
