Collection: Armagh Apple Jewellery

County Armagh is famous for its Apples and for being the ‘Orchard of Ireland’.  So when making our collections of jewellery pieces for the counties of Northern Ireland the design for Armagh was an easy choice.

These pieces are made from solid sterling 925 silver and some have had rose gold plating added to either the heart or the inside of the Apple.

If you’ve ever bitten into a fresh Armagh apple, tucked into a tart or taken a sip of cider from the ‘Orchard County’, you’ll know that there’s something very special about that taste.

The inland location, protected by the Mourne Mountains, Ring of Gullion and the Sperrin Mountains and close to Lough Neagh, means it is the perfect place to grow apples. Rolling hills - or 'drumlins', resembling baskets of eggs, created by glacial melts centuries ago - and neat hedgerows act as a barrier to frost and form natural windbreaks.

The limestone rock beneath the ground creates well-drained loam soil in which apple trees thrive, their roots reaching essential nutrients and plentiful water supply, while mild, damp climate and low temperatures mean that insects are repelled.

As a result, Armagh is famous for delicious cooking and eating apples, creating a raft of homegrown produce which draw foodies from near and far - and now you can take home your own slice of silver or golden Armagh apple piece of jewellery.
