This Bangor Bell Sterling Silver Charm is inspired by the original Saint Comgall Bangor Bell which was supposedly found by grave diggers at Bangor Abbey in 1780.
One story behind the discovery is that the bell had been hidden at the time of the Viking attacks. Once found it remained in private hands for around 150 years but now can be seen in the North Down Museum in Bangor Northern Ireland.
Our Bangor bell is only approx 1.5cm tall by 0.7cm wide and can be made to fit most European bracelets.
Saint Comgall founded a monastery on the Bangor Abbey site in 558 and it has been an important place of Christian worship ever since. Some more information on Saint Comgall can be found here.
