Methodist Church Cross - Silver Jewellery Commission

Some commissions begin with a simple email, and this was one of them.

Our client contacted us looking for a silver pendant based on the Methodist Cross, a design that held great personal significance through their connection with the Methodist Church in Ireland. They already knew the size they wanted, so Ruth set about creating the piece by hand in our Holywood Hills studio.

Using recycled sterling silver, Ruth carefully formed, soldered and polished each element until the finished pendant reflected the clean, distinctive lines of the original Cross. Although the shape appears simple, achieving the right balance and proportions by hand takes patience and precision.

Every commission has its own story, and this one was no different. What began as a simple email became a handcrafted pendant with real personal meaning, made to be worn and treasured.

When the client collected the pendant in person, they were delighted with the finished result, making the whole journey worthwhile. There is nothing quite like seeing someone's reaction when a piece created especially for them finally comes to life.
